This is our take at an Australian and Washington State favorite. Although Semillon is usually taming Sauvignon Blanc, it mingles here with Chardonnay. They just seem to work so well together, regardless of the percentages of each in the blend. This is one of our all time favorite wines to make.

We have finally been able to release another Sblendorio Estate Chardonnay, and it is one of our best. Great fruit,mouthfeel, acidity and a little oak make this a truly enjoyable wine. Don't wait too long to try it as we only bottled three barrels worth and it is moving fast.

Not a varietal, but a concept - a white Bordeaux blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. What better place outside of Bordeaux to grow these grapes. This wine typifies what Livermore was and always will be about - Semillon, Saugignon Blanc, and forever know as Bordeaux by the Bay.

2006 5/8 Chardonnay - 3/8 Semillon

Usally we blend this wine the other way around, but we had two barrels of leftover Chardonnay and nothing to do with it. We got a little creative and came up with a backwards blend. We had a hard time figuring out the percentage so we resorted to using fractions. You do the math while enjoying a glass of this wine. It is suprisingly very very good.

Alex & Libby Mihalka, backyard growers, offered us their Sauvignon Blnac for the 2006 harvest. One look at the vineyard and we couldn't refuse. It has rich and creamy texture with a hint of oak and if we didn't label it Sauvignon Blanc you would think it was a Chardonnay. It definately is not the savage white as it's name implies. The only disappointment is that the vineyard only yielded 44 cases.

We found about 3/4 of a ton at the end of last year's harvest from the Hansen Vineyard on Arroyo Road. We didn't have enough to really barrel, so we bottled it early to retain the fruit charachter with minimal oak influence. This is our second adventure with Grenache (the first attempt found it's way into our first Rhonivore) and are hopefull to make it a regular addition to our line up. Only 42 cases were made.

This is our first release of Merlot from Thatcher Bay Vineyards. We originally brought in the Merlot to blend with their Cabernet Sauvignon, but we had a little left over and decided to bottle it on it's own instead of loosing it in one of our blends.

This is our second offering since the 2000 vintage. Grapes came from a Wente owned vineyard in Livermore and were absolutely beautiful. The bunches were almost as big as your head. We bottled 25 cases worth last year for the Wine Steward in Pleasanton and kept the balance for our use. It is yummy and will move very quickly.

2005 Arcanum

This wine never ceases to amaze us. In years where we don't expect much, the Arcanum always seems to come thru. It always balances out our line-up. In years where the other wine are fruit forward it is dark and tannic. In years where the other wines are hard and edgey it is fruit forward. It is the work horse of our line-up, but it is always elegant, structured, and poised. The 2004, like the 2003, is a little more structured and needs time to open up. Given and hour or so it becomes a wine that lingers on the pallet. The fruit dances on the pallet, but is reigned in by the just the right amount of tannis and acid. The perfect elixer!

This is a soft subtle Cabernet with a great balance of fruit and tannin. Not a huge Cabernet, but definately a great accompanyment for dinner, or by itself. Only three barrels were bottled.

Thisis one of the few realy big wines for us from 2005. Usually at a lower at harvest, this wine always comes thru with great mouthfeel and fruit. While most 2005 red were on the lighter side this one packs a punch and is perfect for someone who wants a little more character in their wine.

Like most of the 2005 wines this vintage of Petite Sirah is more approachable than most Petite Sirahs. Soft tannins, nice fruit, and subtle oak make this an easy drinking Petite Sirah. Even though it is softer and lighter than past Petite Sirahs it is still unmistakablely from the Clark Vineyard.

Wines from the Clark Vineyard always are big. While 2005 was the exception for other wines from this vineyard, the Syrah was right on track. Big fruit (blueberries and cherry), big tannins, oak, and lots of vanilla are the signature for this wine. Most of he staff feel this is one of the best, if not the best, wines from the 2005 vintage. It is just plain yummy!

What a romantic sounding name for a wine. It kind of rolls off the tounge, much like the wine does. This is a blend of Syrah, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Chardonnay. Yes Chardonnay. We had one barrel left and didn't know what to do with it, so it found its way here. Acutally the Chardonnay rounds the wine out and softens the tannis a bit. By the way if you don't speak Italian, Vino Rimanente means Leftover Wine. Sounds better in Italian, doesn't it? Don't let the name put you off. It is increadibly great tasting and selling fast.

It is leaner in style with a hint of rasin on the finish. However, one taste and you can tell it if from the De Mayo Vineyard. Some things just can't be lost. Great Zin with BBq.
